The name Ka Huna originates from ancient Hawaii where the Shamans, known as Ka Hunas, would practice healing initiations. A ceremonial affair, their techniques involved various cleansing practices, prayer, chanting/singing and massage referred to as Hawaiian Temple Style or Lomi Lomi. An holistic approach, acknowledging the whole body, mind and spirit in practices that could last for days! Attuned and deeply connected to the elements these people understood; when we are in tune with our natural environment we are in tune with our innate selves, our energy flows freely and healing takes place. In recent years this massage has been brought to the West. As with most indigenous and modern day healing techniques it is understood that trauma and emotion can store in the cells and DNA of the body. With guided breathing and Bayside Ka Huna's unique style of flow and deep release techniques, the physical body is able to surrender and stored emotions and energy to clear. My style. It is my belief that the more we learn the more we grow, so I am always learning and adding tools to my belt. My style of Ka Huna also brings in elements from other modalities I have picked up along the way. I like to bring the dance to the client, helping to create greater physical and energetic flow. A session may also include chanting/toning, fascia release, body pulsing, shamanic medicine drumming, breath work, dynamic stretches, remedial massage techniques, tsubo/pressure point and meridian work. Massages are adapted to suit individual requirements. BENEFITS OF KA HUNA MASSAGE
