I am a Mother, a Wife, an Island girl by birth, an Earth Girl by heart, a lover of simple natural living – gardening, dancing, creating, yoga-ing, cooking, massaging – in particular Ka Huna massaging.
These things bring me joy and help keep me balanced and healthy in this hectic world.
We live in busy times, we’re stressed, our nervous systems are over wrought and we feel like we don’t have time to take care of ourselves.
We need to slow down, breath, rest and receive Ka- Huna Massage!
I love to share this beautiful healing art – the breath, the dance, the flow. To support a client into a deeply restorative space in which healing can take place is what I love the most.
I have had a privileged upbringing. Growing up on the Chatham Islands, 860 km east of New Zealand. Out in the roaring 40’s. My Maori ancestors being a resilient bunch whom weathered huge seas and great storms to survive there. Today I continue to carry that connection to Island and ancestry close to my heart. When I massage it is my Aunties, Grandmothers, and Mother whom I call upon to guide me.
My adult life has led me on many an adventure. Travelling, working, studying, parenting - experiencing the richness of life.
My younger adult years were spent working mostly in kitchens and catering which led onto a love of whole food cooking and healing. Learning to grow more and more produce in our sub-tropical garden is a very rewarding hobby and experience for me. Delicious home grown organics!
I have studied shiatsu, remedial massage, reiki, yoga teaching and many other healing workshops over the years in India, Thailand, N.Z and Australia.
I have completed 6 levels of Ka Huna training with Mette Sorensons’ High Spirits Retreat centre on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Bringing these modalities and life experiences together creates a massage style whilst being Ka Huna also carries a uniquely Cherie essence.
